The 2008 Arabian jasmine harvest from Madurai, Tamil Nadu: “a fragrance gem”
In southern India, not far from Pondicherry, the Arabian jasmine variety flourishes in the region’s rich, permeable soil which provides exceptional drainage, enabling the plant’s roots to receive constant irrigation. Since late 2007, the climate has been temperate and sunny, and the flowers have developed quite naturally.
Arabian jasmine blooms all year round in this region, but Givenchy chose the January flowers from the very beginning of the harvest to capture their subtle scent and exceptionally majestic floral accents.
The absolute obtained from 2008 Arabian jasmine from India reveals white flower notes that are both very fresh and naturally intense. Jasmine’s characteristic orange blossom facet is accentuated; the headier, sensual notes are more subtle. A finely crafted floral harmony.
